SIX NIGHTS HOLIDAY PACKAGES FROM 19 MAY \u2013 25 MAY 2011<\/p>\n

15 MARCH 2011: Fiji’s most sophisticated address, the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, will present its inaugural music festival A Weekend of Jazz this May.<\/p>\n

Created in association with New Zealand’s Hawkes Bay Jazz Club, Sofitel’s long weekend of jazz will stretch across four days from Friday the 20th until Monday the 23rd of May. A Weekend of Jazz will include live poolside jazz sessions at the Sofitel and at the resort’s Breeze Bar. Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa will also host a three-course Gala Dinner event to celebrate a love of all things ‘jazz’ on Saturday the 21st, and an afternoon of jazz on Sofitel’s Fijian Meke Lawn on Sunday afternoon the 22nd.<\/p>\n

To help celebrate A Weekend of Jazz, Sofitel has teamed with Talpacific to create a six-night holiday package for the occasion. Packages are priced from A$1,435 ex Brisbane, from A$1,565 ex Sydney and from A$1,595 ex Melbourne (per person twin share and subject to availability).<\/p>\n

The experience includes return economy airfares with Pacific Blue to Nadi, return airport transfers, six-nights accommodation at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, breakfast daily, a bottle of sparkling water on arrival and access to the four-day jazz festival including the gala dinner event, plus an escorted day cruise to Tivua Island for a local cultural encounter.<\/p>\n

Tivua Island is surrounded by a circle of white sandy beach, popular with nesting turtles and 500 acres of coral gardens. The cruise (aboard the tall ship Ra Marama – a historic Brigantine rig tall ship built for the Governor General of Fiji in 1957) includes guided snorkelling and a glass-bottomed boat experience, use of canoes, a traditional kava ceremony, and tropical buffet lunch, beer, wine and soft drinks whilst on the island.<\/p>\n
