{"id":7429,"date":"2013-01-14T00:11:00","date_gmt":"2013-01-14T00:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/au-visitation-to-taiwan-passes-55000-mark-as-destination-welcomes-visitor-number-seven-million\/"},"modified":"2013-01-14T00:11:00","modified_gmt":"2013-01-14T00:11:00","slug":"au-visitation-to-taiwan-passes-55000-mark-as-destination-welcomes-visitor-number-seven-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2013\/01\/au-visitation-to-taiwan-passes-55000-mark-as-destination-welcomes-visitor-number-seven-million\/","title":{"rendered":"AU visitation to Taiwan passes 55,000 mark as destination welcomes visitor number seven million"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-Q6PHR_GXl-k\/UPNNNqV5N4I\/AAAAAAAAcOM\/kBNZ3afLc7k\/s1600\/D297D0A6-CFFD-435B-9E0A-A3D28D753813-794276.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-Q6PHR_GXl-k\/UPNNNqV5N4I\/AAAAAAAAcOM\/kBNZ3afLc7k\/s320\/D297D0A6-CFFD-435B-9E0A-A3D28D753813-794276.png\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Australian visitor numbers to Taiwan have increased again with more than 55,000 visiting the destination for the 11-month period January-November 2012 according to the latest statistics figures released by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau.<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>The 55,466 total represents a 5.08 per cent increase over the 52,783 number recorded for the same period in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The 11-month figure was boosted by the 5,424 Australian recorded arrivals in November.<\/p>\n<p>The new figures follow hot on the heels of news that Taiwan has welcomed its seven millionth visitor, Malaysian tourist Lim Swee Chin who arrived at Taiwan&#8217;s Taoyuan International Airport on 18 December.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Lim&#8217;s reward for becoming tourist number seven million &#8211; two business class round trip tickets from Taiwan&#8217;s China Airlines and EVA Airways Corporation, three nights at Howard Hotels, Resorts and Suites facilities in Taipei, Kaohsiung and Kenting, two tickets to New Taipei City-based Juming Museum and a Taipei metro ticket from EasyCard Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>Recently addressing \u00a0students at the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism Taiwan&#8217;s President, Ma Ying-jeou said given the exponential growth of the country&#8217;s tourism visitation it was highly possible Taiwan would be welcoming more than 10 million visitor within the next three years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The speed of that growth is unprecedented and is evidence that Taiwan is a potential tourist hot spot,&#8221; President Ma said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Australian visitor numbers to Taiwan have increased again with more than 55,000 visiting the destination for the 11-month period January-November 2012 according to the latest statistics figures released by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau. \u00a0The 55,466 total represents a 5.08 per cent increase over the 52,783 number recorded for the same period in 2011.
