The Gum Wall in Post Alley, under Park Place market, started in the early 1990s when people, irritated that they had to wait in line to get tickets to the theatre, stuck chewing gum on the wall. At first, they would use the gum to stick small coins to the wall, but in time, the tradition of the coins disappeared, and the gum remained. As the wall grows, the chewing gum art becomes more sophisticated. You’ll find names written with pieces of gum, and symbols like hearts or the peace sign. It’s the perfect place to chew over that proposal – and decide whether you’ll be sticking together. Return flights to Seattle start from just $1286 per person (including taxes) with Cheapflights.com.au.

Worming your way into Melbourne
If you want to worm your way into your lover’s heart, head to Wildlife Wonderland Giant Earthworm Museum at Bass, just 1.5 hours from Melbourne. The Wildlife Wonderland Giant Earthworm Museum is a world first attraction honouring live giant earthworms, up to three metres long. Just remember, if you’re turning down a proposal, it may not just be the worms eating dirt. Compare all flights to Melbourne with Cheapflights

Is Romance dead? Egypt.
Fancy spending eternity together? For suitors looking for that unique spot to pop the question, Cairo in Egypt could be just the place. The City of the Dead – or Cairo Necropolis – is an Arabic necropolis and cemetery below the Mokattam Hills in south eastern Cairo. It is a four mile long dense grid of tomb and mausoleum structures, where some people live and work amongst the dead. Some also live here to be near ancestors, of recent to ancient lineage. Return flights to Cairo start from $1660 per person with Cheapflights.com.au.

Romance in the pipes, Austria.
Underground romance? If your romance gives you more of the trots than the hots, then a romantic night a in a sewerage drain at the Das Park Hotel in Austria might clean up your love life. Three huge concrete drain pipes located in a public park in the Austrian city of Ottensheim is all that make up the Das Park Hotel. The rooms are about two metres across and furnished with a double bed, storage, light, power outlet and blankets. Other than a circular skylight near the top and a couple of air holes, there are no windows. Like cave hotels, Das Park Hotel is fairly cool in the summer, and sometimes warm in winter. Flights to Austria, including taxes, start from around $1500 per person with Cheapflights.com.au.

Stinky Love in New Zealand
In Rotorua, love stinks. This is the place of skyrocketing geysers, hot springs and stinky boiling mud pools. Rotorua is one place where the turbulent forces that formed New Zealand are most evident – accompanied by the whiff of suphur. This city, on the Volcanic Plateau, has one of the world’s most lively fields of geothermal activity and sits squarely on the Pacific Rim of Fire. With its international airport, Rotorua is also the gateway to the North Island’s ski fields for excellent skiing and snowboarding at Mt Ruapehu in the winter. Return flights, including taxes, to Rotorua in New Zealand start from $570 per person with Cheapflights.com.au.

Further information:
Susan Sullivan, Public Relations for cheapflights.com.au; susan@infrontcommunications.com.au;
Ph: 0412 365 122

Follow us on Twitter: @Cheapflights
Follow us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/cheapflights

Cheapflights.com.au is part of momondo group: “Let’s Open our World.”
momondo Group is an online travel media and technology company that is driven by the belief that an open world is a better world.
