In an unprecedented holiday offering, Australian travellers are being given the opportunity to do a behind the scenes tour of the Serengeti, in what is essentially a back-stage-pass with a working\u00a0documentary film crew. <\/p>\n

Australian wildlife photographers and cinematographers, Clive and Anne Arnold have spent the last 25 years working with African wildlife having produced five documentaries. For the last eight years they have also been taking Australian travellers on African safari tours to the places they have filmed and worked in.\u00a0 However, now they are combining their two vocations to create a truly a unique ‘hands-on’ travel experience like no other. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The couple is offering Australian travellers the chance to go behind the scenes in an off-road, all access filming tour of the Serengeti, as they film and photograph footage for their next documentary.\u00a0 \u00a0Given the nature of the “working holiday”, the experience is so exclusive that the holiday will be offered only twice with only six spots available each time. “We have been making documentaries for the last 20 years, travelling off road and into special no access areas of national parks.\u00a0 We’ve seen wildebeests giving birth, we’ve followed leopards to where they hide their cubs and even observed and tracked a lion on its hunt and now we are giving travellers a unique special backstage pass to join us and see these experiences first hand as we gather footage for our next documentary”, said Anne adding. “A highlight of the two week holiday will including sitting in the middle of a wildlife migration and observing the animals in their natural habitat.\u00a0 There will be literally hundreds of thousands of animals all around us”. <\/p>\n

While the couple has travelled to the Serengeti several times to gather footage for the documentary, they have never invited people to join them. Each documentary takes on average more than two years to produce.\u00a0 The coming documentary which they are inviting travellers to join them on, will focus on the great migration of wildebeest and zebra in the Masai Mara and Serengeti and includes the birthing of wildebeest during the migration route. <\/p>\n

“Our clients have walked with lions and cheetahs, experienced elephant back safaris, micro-chipping rhinos and fed vultures and now they can look forward to a once-in a lifetime opportunity to explore the Serengeti, one of the world’s best known wildlife sanctuaries like never before”, says Anne.<\/p>\n

Clive and Anne also boast a wealth of local knowledge having grown up in Africa, before moving to Australia 10 years ago and establishing Safaris into Africa.\u00a0 They speak the local African languages such as Zulu, Khoza, Ndebele and specialise in African cultures and tribes such as the Bushman, Himba and Masai tribes. The duo are also keen conservationists in both Australia and Africa and have had their documentaries regularly featured in National Geographic.<\/p>\n
