This new kind of diesel oil is permissible for navigation in Antarctic waters.  <\/p>\n<p>Le Bor\u00e9al and L\u2019Austral &#8211; both eligible for the international \u201cGreen Ship\u201d label &#8211; will carry forward with implementing eco-friendly features such as: <\/p>\n<p>    * dynamic positioning, so there is no need to drop anchor, thereby protecting seabed<br \/>    * optical underwater detection system : quiet and economic<br \/>    * waste and sewage treatment on board<br \/>    * low energy bulbs for lighting<br \/>    * reduced exhaust emissions<\/p>\n<p>Reducing the impact on the environment has always been and will remain a Compagnie du Ponant priority. It is also a voting member of IAATO (International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators). This organisation aims at advocating, promoting and practising safe and environmentally-responsible private-sector travel to the Antarctic.
