{"id":3698,"date":"2011-08-25T01:04:00","date_gmt":"2011-08-25T01:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/?p=3698"},"modified":"2011-08-25T01:04:00","modified_gmt":"2011-08-25T01:04:00","slug":"sale-of-captain-cook-cruises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2011\/08\/sale-of-captain-cook-cruises\/","title":{"rendered":"Sale of Captain Cook Cruises"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.captaincook.com.au\/image_download_gallery.asp?imageid=895BC11815D93B92\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"285\" src=\"http:\/\/www.captaincook.com.au\/image_download_gallery.asp?imageid=895BC11815D93B92\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Adelaide-based SeaLink Travel Group has just announced the acquisition of iconic Sydney-based tourism business Captain Cook Cruises.<\/p>\n<p>The deal, for an undisclosed sum, includes 15 vessels used on CCC&#8217;s flagship Sydney Harbour operations, along with the Murray Princess paddlewheeler used in South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>It also includes the related infrastructure, marina berths and licenses &#8211; but not Captain Cook Cruises&#8217; operations in Fiji.<\/p>\n<p>CCC founder Captain Trevor Haworth said the deal marked the start of a &#8220;new and exciting chapter&#8221; in the company&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a family business, we have always placed enormous value on our staff, customers and business relationships. It is very satisfying to know that SeaLink shares these same values,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;SeaLink is the ideal tourism partner to add further investment and grow this business further,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Haworth has been appointed General Manager of Captain Cook Cruises, while Jackie Haworth-Charlton will remain as Director of Sales.
