{"id":3145,"date":"2008-07-27T10:11:00","date_gmt":"2008-07-27T10:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/?p=3145"},"modified":"2008-07-27T10:11:00","modified_gmt":"2008-07-27T10:11:00","slug":"qantas-flight-diverts-to-manila","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2008\/07\/qantas-flight-diverts-to-manila\/","title":{"rendered":"Qantas Flight Diverts To Manila"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/multimedia\/archive\/00040\/qantas2_40545t.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 200px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/multimedia\/archive\/00040\/qantas2_40545t.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Qantas has confirmed that a B747-400 aircraft operating QF30 from Hong Kong to Melbourne diverted to Manila today following a loss of cabin pressure.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Executive Officer of Qantas, Mr Geoff Dixon, said all 346 passengers and 19 crew disembarked normally and there were no reports of any injuries to passengers or crew.<\/p>\n<p>The flight, which originated in London, landed in Manila at approximately 11.15 am local time.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Dixon said the flight crew had performed emergency procedures after oxygen masks were deployed.<\/p>\n<p>He said initial inspections revealed the aircraft had sustained a hole in its fuselage, and it was currently being inspected by engineers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Australian Transportation Safety Bureau (ATSB) and the Civil Aviation SafetyAuthority (CASA) have been notified of the incident and Qantas is sending its ownengineers to Manila.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQantas has provided all passengers with accommodation and a replacementaircraft hasbeen arranged.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Qantas has confirmed that a B747-400 aircraft operating QF30 from Hong Kong to Melbourne diverted to Manila today following a loss of cabin pressure.
