Due to popular demand, a second Kimberley Cooking School will be staged this year at the award winning Faraway Bay, the Bush Camp.<\/p>\n

The date for the second Kimberley Cooking School is 1-5 September, 2009.<\/p>\n

Faraway Bay owner Bruce Ellison said the Kimberley Cooking School, held annually in May and featuring one of Australia’s top chefs, Chris Taylor, was one of their most popular activities. <\/p>\n

“This year’s May Kimberley Cooking School was booked out before the end of 2008,” said Mr Ellison.<\/p>\n

“We had so many enquiries asking if we would stage another one, and we didn’t want to disappoint our guests,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Kimberley Cooking School offers 12 fortunate guests the unique opportunity to learn<\/p>\n

\u00a0tricks, tips and inside secrets from Taylor, who oversees several of Perth’s famous eateries including Fraser’s, The Bluewater Grill, Indiana Cottesloe Beach and Brewery Bar and Grill.<\/p>\n

“It’s one of those once in a lifetime experiences that combine wonderful fresh local produce and a fantastically relaxed atmosphere \u2013 set in one of the world’s truly iconic destinations,” said Taylor.<\/p>\n

The Kimberley Cooking School takes place in the open-air Eagle Lodge, perched on a headland overlooking the tranquil waters of Faraway Bay.<\/p>\n

With no walls, Eagle Lodge is ideally suited to the climate and the spectacular setting which combines guest lounging, croc-spotting, cooking and dining, all in one dramatic location.<\/p>\n

“It’s like a breath of fresh air \u2013 it gets you in touch with the environment, stimulates ideas, and generates initiative in your cooking,” said Chris.<\/p>\n

The flavour is laid-back and informal with guests able to be as hands on as they please.<\/p>\n

There is also plenty of time for excursions and activities including fishing.<\/p>\n

Taylor said participants are involved in creating menus, which often focussed on the fresh fish caught that day.<\/p>\n

“It could be anything from mackerel steaks, to trevally, the occasional mud crab or that elusive barramundi.”<\/p>\n

“There are plenty of tastings, ideas, and importantly lots of fun.”<\/p>\n
