{"id":2694,"date":"2009-03-09T07:08:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-09T07:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/?p=2694"},"modified":"2009-03-09T07:08:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-09T07:08:00","slug":"tourism-queensland-campaign-tempts-aussies-to-spend-their-bonuses-in-queensland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2009\/03\/tourism-queensland-campaign-tempts-aussies-to-spend-their-bonuses-in-queensland\/","title":{"rendered":"Tourism Queensland campaign tempts Aussies to spend their bonuses in Queensland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.queenslandholidays.com.au\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"cursor: pointer; width: 402px; height: 84px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.queenslandholidays.com.au\/qldhols_06\/fms\/images\/product_brochure\/heading.gif\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>A new Tourism Queensland campaign encouraging Australians to spend their federal government bonus on a Queensland holiday kicks off this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Anthony Hayes said Tourism Queensland had partnered with travel wholesaler Infinity, retailer Flight Centre, airline Virgin Blue and more than 150 Queensland tourism operators from across the state to develop the \u201cBonus Breaks\u201d campaign, which offered some amazing Queensland holiday deals across the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have pulled together 158 offers ranging from free nights to room upgrades, breakfasts, transfers, discount vouchers and \u2018buy one, get one free\u2019 offers for a range of tours across the state\u2019s prime tourism destinations,\u201d Mr Hayes said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though we are facing some tough economic times, there is a still a lot of optimism amongst the Queensland tourism industry and a willingness to look at new ways of boosting travel to the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been delighted by the response from industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Hayes said packages started from $129 per person for three nights on the Sunshine Coast, $165 per person for three nights on the Gold Coast, $399 per person for three nights in Tropical North Queensland, including airfares, and $615 per person for four nights in the Whitsundays including airfares.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe federal government is encouraging us to spend our bonus, so we have to be on the front foot by getting in first with some great offers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the moment Tourism Queensland\u2019s focus is on hard-hitting tactical marketing aimed at getting more heads in beds and more bums on seats now when we need it the most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The four week, $1.3 million Bonus Breaks campaign begins this Sunday, and will primarily target Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne holidaymakers through a range of television and print advertisements and through Flight Centre stores nationally.<\/p>\n<p>More than 50,000 southern households will also receive a special \u201cbonus offer\u201d in their letterboxes later this month.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign deals are on sale from this weekend with travel from now until September.<\/p>\n<p>More information can be found at www.flightcentre.com.au<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new Tourism Queensland campaign encouraging Australians to spend their federal government bonus on a Queensland holiday kicks off this weekend.
