The opening of Hong Kong\u2019s new Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in June looks set to herald a new chapter in the city\u2019s maritime history and enhance its status as being one of Asia\u2019s leading cruise hubs and top tourism destinations.<\/span><\/p>\n
Situated mid-way along the world-famous Victoria Harbour with dramatic views of the spectacular skyline, the US$1 billion terminal is destined to become a stunning new gateway to welcome visitors to the city, already high on the must-see list for cruise travelers because of its unique east-west cultural fusion and cosmopolitan appeal.<\/div>\n

Hong Kong\u2019s new Kai Tak Cruise Terminal<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
The new terminal, designed by Lord Norman Foster, is situated on the site of the runway of the Hong Kong\u2019s old Kai Tak Airport.<\/div>\n

Boasting a spectacular view of the harbour, skyscraper buildings and a backdrop of sweeping hills, the terminal will feature two berths which will open in two phases in mid 2013 and 2014.<\/div>\n

Each berth will be able to accommodate the biggest cruise vessels in the world, while the three-story terminal building will be able to clear 3,000 passengers an hour through immigration and customs channels and will feature modern and light-filled service areas and waiting halls and a beautiful landscaped roof garden.<\/div>\n
