{"id":21103,"date":"2013-05-29T15:42:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-29T15:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/las-vegas-sands-plans-massive-madrid-casino-project-2\/"},"modified":"2013-05-29T15:42:00","modified_gmt":"2013-05-29T15:42:00","slug":"las-vegas-sands-plans-massive-madrid-casino-project-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2013\/05\/las-vegas-sands-plans-massive-madrid-casino-project-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Las Vegas Sands plans massive Madrid casino project"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-_NPhn2Q1EAQ\/UEhy9t3DOLI\/AAAAAAAABOc\/c77Eb-N8424\/s1600\/Eurovegas_Madrid_Barcelona_Spain.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"223\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-_NPhn2Q1EAQ\/UEhy9t3DOLI\/AAAAAAAABOc\/c77Eb-N8424\/s400\/Eurovegas_Madrid_Barcelona_Spain.jpg\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>source: <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.breakingtravelnews.com\/\">www.breakingtravelnews.com<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lasvegas.mobi\/\">Las Vegas<\/a> Casino giant Las Vegas Sands Corp. has chosen Madrid for a multi-billion dollar gambling resort project which has been dubbed \u201cEuroVegas\u201d and will be Europe\u2019s biggest casino and conference centre. <\/p>\n<p>The latest plans for this exciting project were revealed by the company\u2019s chairman and chief executive officer Sheldon Adelson at the <a href=\"http:\/\/jerusalem.mobi\/\">Jerusalem<\/a> International Tourism Summit. <\/p>\n<p>The 79 year old entrepreneur, philanthropist and businessman, whose career spans six decades, was honoured for his tremendous contributions in the travel and tourism industry earlier today at the Summit. <\/p>\n<p>Widely credited for transforming Vegas from a gamingcentric regional location into the leading convention and exhibition city in the United States, the tycoon now has his sights set on <a href=\"http:\/\/madrid.city.com\/\">Madrid<\/a> . <\/p>\n<p>He revealed to delegates at the Jerusalem forum that his vision is to make Madrid \u201cthe convention centre of the world\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Having secured the \u00a38.3bn financing needed for EuroVegas, Adelson, has earmarked 12 3,000 room properties with 2,400 meeting facilities, set to transform the three square mile site. <\/p>\n<p>The first stage of the project \u2013 which includes four separate \u201cresorts\u201d with casino facilities attached \u2013 is expected to open in 2017. <\/p>\n<p>The final result will be a 72-storey hotel building including six casinos, a convention centre, three golf courses, theatres, shopping malls, bars and restaurants. <\/p>\n<p>A total of 240,000 direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created from the project, according to reports. <\/p>\n<p>Adelson also has his sights set on major Integrated Resort projects in South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand. <\/p>\n<p>Las Vegas Sands Corp. is now the world\u2019s largest casino corporation, posting profits of $1.27 billion in 2011. <\/p>\n<p>It owns the Venetian and Palazzo resort casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and the Marina Bay Sands in <a href=\"http:\/\/singapore.city.mobi\/\">Singapore<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The Venetian was named North America\u2019s Leading Casino Resort by the World Travel Awards in 2010, meanwhile Las Vegas Sands Corp was named World\u2019s Leading Integrated Resort Company by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldtravelawards.com\/\">Word Travel Awards<\/a> in 2012.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>source: www.breakingtravelnews.com Las Vegas Casino giant Las Vegas Sands Corp. has chosen Madrid for a multi-billion dollar gambling resort project which has been dubbed \u201cEuroVegas\u201d and will be Europe\u2019s biggest casino and conference centre.
