Hunt for bargains, meet the farmers and sing with performers on the Sunshine Coast\u2019s new markets trail.<\/span>

Launched by Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd. (SCDL), the markets trail is the newest in a series of trails designed to showcase the exciting experiences visitors can enjoy on the Sunshine Coast.<\/div>\n

Chairman of SCDL, Barrie Adams, said the markets trail gave people another reason to visit the Sunshine Coast.<\/div>\n

\u201cMarket shopping is a great weekend activity to enjoy during the winter months and this trail highlights some of the region\u2019s top market hot spots,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n

\u201cYou can find anything from organic food straight from the farm to unique handicrafts, one-off collectables and second-hand goods. There\u2019s also plenty of entertainment for the whole family.<\/div>\n

Chairman of Eumundi Markets, Michael Donovan, said the Eumundi Markets attracts visitors because it\u2019s like no other market in Australia.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cMore than 1.6 million people come to Eumundi each year to experience the eclectic style and holistic assortment of music, food, art and craft.\u201d<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The markets trail is one of six trails designed to attract people to the region and increase their length of stay.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The trails are promoted via YouTube, a microsite and digital media channels. All the trails star local talent and feature music by local artists.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Visitors also have the chance to win $1000 by taking a photo of themselves on one of the trails and posting it online. The photo with the most votes wins. The competition closes on June 17 and a winner is announced on June 18.<\/div>\n
