Neither have we \u2013 until now, or more to the point, until FlightFest.<\/span><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 19px;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\" data-mce-style=\"text-align: left;\" style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 19px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Almost a century ago, we left behind the time of mammoth train journeys and epic ferry crossings and embraced the airplane. This summer, aviation goes one step further with Dublin\u2019s FlightFest, a one-off city centre skyline spectacle that will take place on Sunday the 15th of September 2013.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"FlightFest Launch\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-390072\" data-mce-src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/FlightFest-Launch.jpg\" height=\"166\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/FlightFest-Launch.jpg\" style=\"border: 0px; cursor: default; float: right;\" width=\"223\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">This incredible event will involve more than 30 aircraft flying along the path of the River Liffey right through the center of Dublin.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div data-mce-style=\"text-align: left;\" style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 19px;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Organisers are anticipating FlightFest to be one of the largest events of The Gathering Ireland 2013. It is expected that thousands of spectators, both Irish and from overseas, will line the banks of the River Liffey to behold this incredible event.<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-mce-style=\"text-align: left;\" style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 19px;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 19px;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">FlightFest is a free family event. A large section of Dublin\u2019s quays will be pedestrianised, with many family attractions and festivities available, contributing to a carnival atmosphere that will showcase Irish aviation at its best.
