New Zealand\u2019s first packrafting tour company Expedition X is raring to go for the summer season with a spell of warm weather boding well for the months to come.<\/span><\/span>

Packrafting down Central Otago\u2019s mighty Kawarau River, the innovative Queenstown company has joined forces with Goldfields Jet to create an exciting end to its summer tours – a thrilling jet boat ride back to base at the Goldfields Mining Centre.<\/span><\/div>\n

Expedition X director and head guide Arno Marten said he was \u201cthrilled\u201d to have Goldfields Jet on board.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cThe jet boat ride adds a little bit of extra excitement to the end of the trip down the river and everyone\u2019s loving it so far,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n

Since initially launching its winter trips in March, Expedition X has received nothing but rave reviews via online sites like Trip Advisor.<\/span><\/div>\n

Mr Marten said he \u201ccouldn\u2019t wait\u201d for Expedition X\u2019s first full summer season and the chance to share Central Otago and Queenstown\u2019s \u201cstunning\u201d scenery.<\/span><\/div>\n

Water safety is paramount and guests are fully briefed before departing<\/span><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cWhat better way to appreciate Queenstown\u2019s summer landscape then to get out and immerse yourself in it,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cThe trip teaches clients about river features, water safety and how to use the packraft while at the same time exploring amazingly beautiful and isolated places.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

Tours consist of water and land-based adventures using a packraft \u2013 a light inflatable wilderness boat that is carried into remote or \u2018hard to get to\u2019 areas in a backpack, giving clients the freedom to explore.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cWith a packraft each, clients can control their own adventure level \u2013 if they just want a leisurely float down the river or want to explore the sides and play in small rapids.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

The adventure starts near Cromwell with hiking in the Goldfields area, and rafting on the Kawarau River.<\/span><\/div>\n

All transport to and from Queenstown, an extensive gourmet lunch, full training and equipment is provided.<\/span><\/div>\n
