February and March will be a great illustration of this, with an exciting line up of events offering something for every visitor,\u201d Mr Owen said.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">The packed schedule includes:<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"unnamed (4)\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-452820\" data-mce-src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/unnamed-42-300x250.jpg\" height=\"250\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/unnamed-42-300x250.jpg\" style=\"border: 0px; cursor: default; float: right;\" width=\"300\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Navy Australian Surf Rowers Open<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Australian Bowl-Riding Championships<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Festival of Indigenous Rugby<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Surfest, including the Visit NSW Air Show<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Diving off the Edge of the World theatre event<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Bruce Springsteen concert<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Newcastle Craft Beer Week<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">The Newcastle Show<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Maitland Taste Food Wine and Music Festival<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">CMC Rocks the Hunter<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Hunter Valley NHMA Tractor Trek<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival.<span data-mce-style=\"font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.5em;\" style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px;\">\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">The Newcastle Jets A-League team will also play home games against the Wellington Pheonix, Sydney FC and Melbourne Heart, and a Super Rugby Match will be held at Stadium Newcastle.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">\u201cThe NSW Government has contributed part of the $100,000 to be spent on the campaign, to be put towards online promotion, print advertising and media coverage to raise awareness of It\u2019s ON! in Newcastle and The Hunter.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris, said regional events were vital to helping the NSW Government achieve its goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure to the State by 2020.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">\u201cThe campaign aims to increase visitation to the listed events and the broader region by more than 10,000 visitors during the campaign period,\u201d Mr Souris said.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">\u201cThe NSW Government, through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, is pleased to support this initiative, which contributes to the wider \u201cIt\u2019s ON!\u201d campaign to promote the Sydney and Regional NSW events calendar,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Destination NSW CEO, Sandra Chipchase, said Newcastle and The Hunter region received close to 20 per cent of international visitors in regional NSW in the year ended September 2013, with the key purpose for visits being holiday and pleasure.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">\u201cNewcastle and The Hunter have great appeal with domestic and international visitors, and the It\u2019s ON! campaign will help us build on this,\u201d Ms Chipchase said.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">\u201cVisitors who come to the region for the events will also experience a vibrant arts culture, great food and wine, and spectacular beaches.
