Any green space that provides drinking water to one in three of the world\u2019s 100 largest cities deserves a celebration.<\/span><\/span>

Now in its third year, Parks Week<\/b> is being held during March 3-9<\/b> and will celebrate the vital role parks contribute to the community.<\/span><\/div>\n
\"ParksThe NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS<\/b>) has created a series of over 30 activities to be held across the state and close to Sydney\u2019s centre, providing the community with an opportunity to be involved.<\/span><\/div>\n
With a theme of \u2018connect with nature\u2019, this year\u2019s Parks Week is focussed on encouraging the community to step away from a busy lifestyle and to go outside and reconnect with their local parks and green spaces.<\/span><\/div>\n
Some examples of Parks Week experiences on offer by the NPWS will include:<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022A community open day at Glenrock State Conservation Area<\/a> showcasing Aboriginal cultural heritage along with a range of recreational experiences offered in NSW National Parks such as mountain biking, horse riding, hang gliding, surfing, bush regeneration, art, Discovery tours and WilderQuest.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
\"Bird\u2022  WilderQuest Wildlife Scouts<\/a> event at Dorrigo National Park \u2013 an exciting new 2-hour ranger-guided quest for children to search for native wildlife in the rainforest.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 The South Coast Volcano Tour<\/a> to various South Coast Parks \u2013 a fully catered all-day tour aboard a 22-seater coach with a NSW National Parks Discovery expert that promises a hands-on exploration of our ancient \u2018hotspots\u2019.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022   Cinema in the Sky<\/a> in the Camp Precinct of Scheyville National Park \u2013 three nights, three fantastic films under the night sky.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 Pilliga Mountain Bike Challenge<\/a> Pilliga Forest \u2013 a Mountain Bike Tour to the Salt Caves that offers a new route for cyclists ending at the Pilliga Lookout Tower.<\/span><\/div>\n
