It also marked Thailand\u2019s 40<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;year of participation. Over 110 Thai exhibitors and travel and tourism operators were participating. The team included senior executives of hotels, tour operators and travel-related agencies.<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-mce-style=\"text-align: center;\" style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Untitled\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-462108\" data-mce-src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Untitled27.png\" height=\"346\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Untitled27.png\" style=\"border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" width=\"241\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">In line with the \u201cThainess\u201d theme, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) also proudly presented a new global marketing and promotion tagline \u201cAmazing Thailand. It begins with the people.\u201d &nbsp;At the Thai Pavilion, all guests and visitors were welcomed with \u201cThainess\u201d by extending the Thai greeting \u201cSawasdee\u201d (meaning \u201cwell-being\u201d).<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">TAT Governor Thawatchai Arunyik said, \u201cBoth the \u2018Thainess\u2019 theme as well as \u2018It begins with the people\u2019 tagline reflect our core values as a people and society, as well as the increasingly human-centric aspect of Amazing Thailand.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">\u201cIt deepens the emotional value of visiting the country, a value that is linked to the people in their attitude, hospitality and spirit.&nbsp;<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"unnamed (11)\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-462109\" data-mce-src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/unnamed-1111.jpg\" height=\"320\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/unnamed-1111.jpg\" style=\"border: 0px; cursor: default; float: right;\" width=\"240\" \/><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Today\u2019s travellers are choosing destinations and services that satisfy deeper need for participation, creativity, community, and idealism.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">TAT has organised a number of activities to ensure that Thailand maintains a high-profile presence at the trade show, which is attracting record participation due to the phenomenal growth in the global travel and tourism industry. As such, TAT has to ensure that it maintains the country\u2019s competitive edge in the face of many emerging new destinations worldwide, and their strong marketing campaigns.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">At the Thai pavilion, visitors enjoyed a Thai spa demonstration by RarinJinda Wellness Spa, a winner of the Thailand Tourism Awards and popular spa amongst local and foreign consumers.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Over 35,000 brochures promoting more than 50 types of travel opportunities in Thailand were distributed. Special focus was placed on promoting beach resorts; such as, Ko Samui, Ko Chang, Phuket, Pattaya, Khao Lak, Hua Hin; Natural and Cultural destinations like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Ayutthaya and Kanchanaburi, and promoting special-interest activities; such as, diving and golf.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Other activities at the Thai pavilion include:<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">1)&nbsp;<strong>\u201cHappy Hour Reception\u201d<\/strong>, on 5 March, from 17.00-18.00 hrs.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">2)&nbsp;<strong>\u201cThailand Green Excellence Awards Germany\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;on 6 March, at 15.00 hrs; HRH Princess Ubol Ratana presided over the ceremony to present the awards to travel agents and media in Germany who have promoted eco-friendly tourism to Thailand.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">3)&nbsp;<strong>\u201cThailand Mini Mart @ Berlin\u201d<\/strong>, on 7 March, from 09.30-16.30 hrs; TAT overseas offices in Europe have invited buyers from new and niche markets to arrange pre-appointments with sellers from Thailand.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Germany is Thailand\u2019s third largest source market from Europe after Russia and the UK. In 2013, Thailand recorded 744,363 German visitors, up by 9% over 2012.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">German visitors are very important because they have one of the longest average lengths of stay. For example, the average length of stay of visitors from Germany in 2012 was 18 days, as against 7.15 for India and 7.95 for China.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #333333; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">In 2012, Thailand recorded 682,419 visitors from Germany, with a daily expenditure per person of 3,617 Baht.
