Qantas international premium passengers passing through Queenstown Airport will be able to enjoy the benefits of a stunning new airline lounge from early July.<\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Aviation ground-handling company PlaneBiz has signed an agreement with Queenstown Airport Corporation (QAC) to fit out and manage the lounge on behalf of Qantas and its partner airlines.<\/span><\/div>\n
The Manaia Lounge – which translates as Protector of Land, Sea and Sky in Maori – will cater for up to 75 guests and offer uninterrupted views of Queenstown\u2019s world-famous Remarkables mountain range. <\/span>\"Qantas<\/div>\n
Features will include comfortable and stylish furnishings, dedicated bathrooms, complimentary WiFi, newspapers, hot and cold beverages including bar service, and freshly prepared food.<\/span><\/div>\n
The lounge will be located on the first floor of the terminal building, replacing the existing Airport Administration office which will move into a new space on the ground floor next to baggage reclaim in mid-May.  PlaneBiz will then complete an eight-week fitout and open its doors in time for the region\u2019s peak ski season.<\/span><\/div>\n
Frank Ryder, Director of PlaneBiz, says the initiative has been driven by strong demand.<\/span><\/div>\n
“The lounge we operate in Christchurch has been performing extremely well so when Qantas signalled increased commitment to Queenstown we jumped at the chance to provide a similar facility.  The icing on the cake will be having one of the best airport views in New Zealand – it will give it a real wow factor.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n
QAC CEO Scott Paterson welcomes the move and says the lounge complements the airport\u2019s aim to provide world-class facilities and an outstanding passenger experience.<\/span><\/div>\n
