\"LisaWilkinson_CrocosaurasCove\"Tourism NT has announced Channel Nine\u2019s TODAY Show host Lisa Wilkinson as a <\/span>Mate of the Territory<\/i>.  Lisa is one of many high-profile Australians involved in Tourism NT\u2019s advocacy program, which will see Aussies nationwide become \u2018Mates\u2019 by sharing their experiences in the region.<\/span><\/span>

Through telling their stories of how to do the NT, \u2018Mates of the Territory\u2019 will encourage other Aussies to become \u2018Mates\u2019 as they make their intention to visit the Territory a reality.<\/span><\/div>\n

In addition to Lisa, the line-up of \u2018Mates\u2019 includes actor Shari Sebbens, V8 Supercars champion Mark Skaife, sports reporter Mark Beretta, former MasterChef Australia runner-up Lynton Tapp, former cricketer Matthew Hayden, Big Brother Australia star Tahan Lew Fatt, professional instagrammer Lauren Bath and former world-champion surfer Layne Beachley. <\/span><\/div>\n

To mark the launch, Lisa will visit Darwin this weekend where she will swim with crocs in the Cage of Death at Crocosaurus Cove<\/a> and visit Deck Chair Cinema<\/a>. She\u2019ll also take a helicopter flight over Litchfield National Park<\/a> before embarking on asunset cruise<\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n

Lisa says: \u201cThe NT is one of those destinations on everyone\u2019s list, but people have a tendency to put it off because they think it\u2019s too far, too hot, too wet or too expensive. Having recently visited Uluru to cover the Royal visit for the TODAY Show and fulfil my dream of riding a Harley, I want to show Australians that the NT is accessible. You\u2019re there within 2.5 hours from the East Coast, and can enjoy some of the most action-packed destinations our country has to offer.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

The Mates of the Territory initiative was born from research that reveals 40 per cent of Aussies want to visit the NT, yet only 3 per cent of us do.*<\/span><\/div>\n
