{"id":19910,"date":"2014-06-04T23:30:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-04T23:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/sivb-initiate-solomons-islands-clean-up\/"},"modified":"2014-06-04T23:30:00","modified_gmt":"2014-06-04T23:30:00","slug":"sivb-initiate-solomons-islands-clean-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2014\/06\/sivb-initiate-solomons-islands-clean-up\/","title":{"rendered":"SIVB initiate Solomons Islands clean-up"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net\/hphotos-ak-xpa1\/t1.0-9\/10420296_10152140165227747_8314305573195224016_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net\/hphotos-ak-xpa1\/t1.0-9\/10420296_10152140165227747_8314305573195224016_n.jpg\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Leading by example \u2013 Green SIVB team catalyst for Solomon Islands clean-up<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau \u2018Green Team\u2019 lead by marketing manager, Freda Unusi has thrown down the challenge to the entire population calling on their countrymen to show  pride in their country by keeping it clean.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Unusi and her SIVB \u2018Green Team\u2019 colleagues took matters into their own hands this week to clear a badly blocked drain at the side of the SIVB headquarters that had been left unattended since the April floods.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom little things, big things grow and from this small beginning we just wanted to show our fellow countrymen that yes, there are times when we can take the responsibility ourselves,\u201d Ms Unusi said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to determine our own future by looking after our environment and the time to start doing that is now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe SIVB Green Team is calling on all Solomon Islanders to follow our example and be passionate and proud about their country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just for us.
