CEO of Connecting Southern Gold Coast, Peter Doggett, along with Division 14 Councillor Chris Robbins and Chair of Connecting Southern Gold Coast Michael Tree, officially launched the Southern Gold Coast\u2019s new website on Friday 8 August.<\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>The new, interactive and informative site, www.southerngoldcoast.com.au displays the City of Gold Coast branding, and highlights local business as well as tourism in the Southern Gold Coast region. It replaces the previous Southern Gold Coast website that was launched five years ago.<\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Doggett said the new website supports his organisation\u2019s vision for the Southern Gold Coast to be widely recognised as a place where lifestyle attracts and sustains business, creative arts and events.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cThe new website is a key element in our overall marketing strategy for business and tourism in the region and clearly defines the role of Connecting Southern Gold Coast, its Board of Directors and management,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cIt is jam-packed with useful information for potential visitors to our region and includes attractions, things to see and do and accommodation options.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cEveryone who has seen the site agrees that it paints a perfect picture of the Southern Gold Coast and highlights the best aspects including lifestyle, events and festivals, business opportunities and its appeal as a holiday destination.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

Mr Doggett said that whilst the Southern Gold Coast is renowned nationally and internationally for its iconic beaches and surf breaks, the new site encourages visitors and locals to take some time to explore the Southern Gold Coast hinterland.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cSelf drive trails through Tomewin and Currumbin Valley are just 15 minutes from the highway on the Southern Gold Coast and lead to World-heritage-listed rainforest areas such as Mt Cougal National Park, which is part of Australia\u2019s Green Cauldron,\u201d said Mr Doggett.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cWe have incorporated some new imagery into the site of our hinterland and beaches that is so spectacular, it tells the story of how great it is on the Southern Gold Coast without the need for words,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n

The Southern Gold Coast has hosted a growing number of events and festivals over recent years, with major events such as Bleach* Festival, Opera on the Beach, Cooly Rocks On and Swell Sculpture Festival reaping huge benefits for tourism and the local economy.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cThe Southern Gold Coast has quickly gained a reputation as a hub for festivals and events, and Connecting Southern Gold Coast will continue to support events that foster creative arts, culture or sport, or showcase our beaches and destination to a broad demographic, nationally and internationally,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n
