The performances in some locations start on 19 January and carry into March during the Paralympic Winter Games. <\/p>\n<p>The Olympic Winter Games are Friday, February 12 to Sunday February 28, 2010. The Paralympic Winter Games take place Friday March 12, to Sunday March 21, 2010. <\/p>\n<p>Performers and artistic companies involved in the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad National Presentation and Touring Program include: The Alberta Ballet and its presentation of famed Canadian songbird Joni Mitchell\u2019s The Fiddle and The Drum, Quebec-based Compagnie Marie Chouinard and Cirque \u00c9loize, as well as musical performances by Nova Scotia\u2019s Jenn Grant, Saskatchewan\u2019s Jason Plumb &#038; the Willing, Yukon\u2019s Spring Breakup, and Alberta\u2019s John Wort Hannam. <\/p>\n<p>For tour dates and information on how to purchase tickets see below or visit www.vancouver2010.com\/culturalolympiad<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want all visitors to Canada to feel they can share in the cultural celebrations surrounding the 2010 Winter Games,\u201d said Burke Taylor, vice president of culture and celebrations for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC). \u201cWe invite everyone to come out and enjoy a taste of the cultural excitement of the Games.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The performers will travel widely and visit the country from coast to coast to coast, with stops, ranging from Victoria, BC, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Wolfville, Nova Scotia, to Yellowknife, North West Territories, supported by their home provinces and territories (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon) together with the Government of Canada and Canada Council for the Arts.<\/p>\n<p>The tours will coincide with hundreds of free and ticketed performances and exhibitions that make up the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad festival, which kicks off 22 January 2010 in Metro Vancouver and British Columbia\u2019s Sea to Sky corridor. The festival features almost 200 incredibly diverse projects by artists from across Canada and around the world in music, theatre, visual arts, dance, and digital programming projects.
