Destination NSW is inviting expressions of interest from Sydney and Regional NSW tourism businesses to showcase their products, attractions and services to international buyers as part of the 2015 Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) familiarisation program.<\/span><\/span>

Travel itineraries will be developed by Destination NSW, in association with Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs), highlighting the experiences on offer in NSW to international buyers before and after ATE in June next year.<\/span><\/div>\n
Acting Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Andrew Stoner encouraged all export-ready NSW tourism businesses engaged in international markets to register.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cATE is Australia’s largest annual tourism business-to-business event, attracting buyers from all overseas markets. It is a fantastic opportunity to invite tourism wholesalers and retailers to experience NSW tourism products first hand,\u201d Mr Stoner said.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cThe International Visitor Survey (IVS) results for the year ending June 2014 confirmed NSW is still the number one destination for overseas visitors, with the State accounting for more than half of all international visitors to Australia, and receiving the greatest share of visitor nights and expenditure.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cInitiatives such as the ATE familiarisation program help deliver on the NSW Government’s goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure in NSW by 2020,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase, said: \u201cInternational buyers attending ATE will be able to travel to Regional NSW or take part in a Sydney itinerary, giving them invaluable product knowledge to promote our State.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cRegional NSW tourism operators can contact their Regional Tourism Organisation to express interest in participating, while Sydney businesses can visit the Destination NSW website to register,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/div>\n
Following the closing date for submissions, Destination NSW will assess the expressions of interest and contact those operators selected for inclusion in the program.<\/span><\/div>\n
