South Australia’s passionate and creative chefs and freshly sourced local produce are the focus of the latest short film as part of the State Government’s Through Local Eyes film project.<\/span><\/span>

About Food features some of South Australia’s key food and wine personalities as they discuss their passion for the local industry.<\/span><\/div>\n

Tourism Minister Leon Bignell said the film shows why South Australia has a world class reputation for food and wine.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cThe enthusiasm and excitement these chefs and winemakers have for South Australia is inspiring, and demonstrates why our state is so unique in the way it creates a community by sharing ideas, recipes and techniques,\u201d he said. \u201cThe film highlights the partnerships between producers, chefs, artisans and winemakers.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

The film was made by the creative team behind popular new Adelaide magazine CityMag – Farrin Foster, Joshua Fanning, and Marie Totsikas, with Matt Salleh and Rose Tucker managing the production.<\/span><\/div>\n

The Through Local Eyes film project is a series of 30 YouTube videos where local filmmakers showcase the state through their eyes. The project has so far involved more than 70 local film-makers, producers and musicians, and has featured many SA business owners, operators, and local identities.<\/span><\/div>\n

The films have collectively amassed more than 1.1 million views since the project was launched in May 2013.<\/span><\/div>\n

The release of About Food has been timed to coincide with Tourism Australia’s global advertising campaign Restaurant Australia, by highlighting the strength of South Australia’s food and wine offering.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cSouth Australia’s premium food and wine is a major attraction for international visitors. We have an exceptional reputation internationally when it comes to what we produce in our clean, green environment,\u201d said Minister Bignell.<\/span><\/div>\n

The film features interviews and footage of Sharon Romeo from Fino, Duncan Welgemoed from Bistro Dom, James Erskine from Jauma Wine, Ricky Chau from Ricky’s Kitchen, Gill Gordon-Smith from Fall From Grace Wines, Gareth and Emily Grierson from Red Door Bakery, and Andy Nowell from Happy Motel.<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
