Summer in Sydney set to sizzle with a fantastic line up of new attractions <\/b><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Summer in Sydney is a non-stop parade of what’s hot and new including eateries, bars, accommodation and events. This Summer, visitors and locals will love every second of what the world’s best festival and events city has to offer.* <\/i><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Eating and Drinking Hot Spots <\/u><\/b><\/span><\/span>
With an abundance of fabulous new dining and drinking hot spots popping up this Summer, Sydney will satisfy any appetite. Some of the best new additions include beachside Bill’s, <\/b>Bill Granger’s latest restaurant in Bondi and the uber cool Daniel San Rock n’ Roll Eatery and Rooftop Dojo <\/b>at the Manly Pacific Hotel. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>The city’s CBD also has some great new venues with Bowery Lane<\/b>, inspired by Manhattan’s oldest thoroughfare; and The Lemon Tree, <\/b>which is from the team behind Pelicano Bar and Catalina, offers a little taste of Southern Italy, and is definitely worth a visit for Summer-loving foodies. A new Gelato Messina Dessert Ba<\/b>r in Darlinghurst with an emphasis on do-it-yourself sundaes is an ideal way to create a bespoke delicious gelato treat to cool down on a Sydney Summer’s day. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>The new Coogee Pavilion, <\/b>courtesy of Merivale, is set to be one of Sydney’s hottest spots, offering a variety of bars (including one on the rooftop with amazing beach views and cocktails to match), restaurants, a florist, juice bar, coffee cart, private movie room, barbershop and retro play area for kids. For more waterfront dining, check out the newest wharf hotspot, Regatta Dining <\/b>that will open this Summer in the former Sailor’s Club in Rose Bay and is sure to be a favourite spot for a long lunch. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Asian cuisine has taken centre stage in Sydney, bringing the Asian fusion trend to a world-renowned level this Summer. Some of these include Cho Cho San, <\/b>a hip new Potts Point Japanese izakaya; Chinta Kechil<\/b>, an intimate Double Bay outpost of Simon Goh’s jazz-themed Malaysian eatery Chinta Ria; Moon Park<\/b>, Ben Sears and Eun Hee An’s hip Korean restaurant in Redfern; and China Diner <\/b>on Bondi’s Hall Street offering a cross-pollination of Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese dishes. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>When it comes to where to have a drink as the sun sizzles, the list of offers has become even longer. Newcomers include Mr Tipply, <\/b>a bold new CBD venue over two levels on Kent Street; Your Ex Lovers<\/b>, a cool new Redfern dive bar with emerging art for sale on the walls; and the Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern, <\/b>a lively CBD basement tavern on Park Street, the latest from the unstoppable collective behind Shady Pines and Frankie’s. If that’s not enough, the refurbished favourite, Opera Bar <\/b>on Sydney Opera House’s lower concourse, will offer a new look and direction, led by celebrity chef Matt Moran. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Summer Sleepovers in Sydney <\/u><\/b><\/span><\/span>
Sydney’s accommodation scene is also buzzing, with a variety of new openings, refurbishments and innovations. The glamorous eastern suburbs harbourside neighbourhood, Double Bay, is becoming a luxury leisure hub led by the opening of the new Intercontinental Sydney Double Bay <\/b>that will offer an exclusive pool club bar with harbour views, High Martini service and Sydney’s only gin bar. <\/span><\/span>Another new addition is The Langham Sydney <\/b>that reopens in December after a $30 million transformation. <\/b><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Outdoor and Family Adventures <\/u><\/b><\/span><\/span>
For the adventure lovers, there is so much to get their blood pumping this Summer including a spectacular new coastal adventure, Zoo2Q<\/b>. The unforgettable two-day tour combines luxury, wildlife and nature, starting with a night at Taronga Zoo’s Roar and Snore, followed by a 15 kilometre guided walk through Sydney National Park and finishing with a night at Manly’s historic Q Station. <\/span><\/span>
Water lovers should experience the new Fantasea Bondi Boat <\/b>– Sydney’s only harbour cruise out through the Heads and into the ocean to see Bondi Beach. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>For short breaks or day trips, Sydney’s west is an ideal destination this Summer with a range of experiences for the whole family to enjoy including the new JetPack Adventures <\/b>in Penrith where the adventurous can fly 15 metres high on an over-water jetpacking experience; and iFLY Downunder<\/b>, Australia’s first indoor skydiving facility that allows people of all ages to experience the exhilaration of flight in a high-tech wind tunnel. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Events not to be missed <\/u><\/b><\/span><\/span>
The world’s best festival and event city calendar won’t disappoint over Summer as Sydney boasts world class festivals, exhibitions, concerts, and sporting events. A must-see highlight is the Sydney International Art Series<\/b>, Sydney’s annual celebration of two world-class exhibitions. This 2014\/15 Series includes Pop to popism<\/i>, at the Art Gallery of NSW (1 November 2014 to 1 March 2015) which is the most extensive exhibition of Pop art ever shown in Australia; and Chuck Close: Prints, Process and Collaboration <\/i>at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (20 November 2014 to 15 March 2015), the largest collection of Close’s works ever presented in the Southern Hemisphere. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Annual favourite, Sculpture by the Sea<\/b>, the world’s largest annual free outdoor sculpture exhibition that stretches across the spectacular Eastern Suburbs coast line from Bondi to Tamarama, is also set to attract many visitors this Summer. The event runs from 23 October \u2013 9 November. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Other arts and cultural events include Corroboree Sydney<\/b>, back for its second year to celebrate Australia’s rich Indigenous culture from 20 to 30 November; Tropfest<\/b>, on December 7, one of the world’s most famous short film festivals; and Sydney Festival<\/b>, the city’s biggest, boldest cultural celebration that transforms Sydney into a thrilling Summer stage from 8 to 26 January 2015. <\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Visitors should also prepare for a spectacular Summer of sport as some of the world’s biggest and best tournaments come to town. Highlights include the 2014 Emirates Australian Open of Golf<\/b>, Australia’s most prestigious golf championship that will showcase the game’s global champions at Sydney’s The Australian Golf Club in Rosebery from 27 to 30 November; motoring action at the V8 Supercars Sydney 500 <\/b>event at Sydney Olympic Park from 5 to 7 December; the AFC Asian Cup <\/b>that will bring the best teams in Asia to Sydney and Newcastle in January 2015 to compete for the most sought-after trophy in Asian football; and the once in a generation event, the Cricket World Cup 2015<\/b>, which will be held at the SCG. Matches include Australia versus Sri Lanka, South Africa versus west Indies and the quarter and semi finals. <\/span><\/span>
