Thailand has once again been recognised as a premier travel destination by Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller\u2019s readers, who voted Bangkok and Chiang Mai among the Top 25 Cities in the World in the prestigious magazine\u2019s Readers\u2019 Choice Awards 2014.<\/span><\/span>

This year\u2019s awards, announced on 20 October, 2014, reflect the opinions of nearly 77,000 responses in the survey tabulated by Equation Research. Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller\u2019s readers also honoured Thailand in other categories including Asia\u2019s top hotels and resorts.<\/span><\/div>\n

For the Top Cities in the World, Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller\u2019s readers rated Bangkok in the 13th<\/sup> place. With the Readers\u2019 Rating of 81.840, the award announcement described Bangkok as \u201cresembles the type of futuristic city so often depicted in sci-fi films like Blade Runner or Minority Report \u2013 soaring, glass-panelled buildings house the world\u2019s economic elite while at street level rickshaws and mopeds weave through snarls of traffic.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

Chiang Mai was voted in the 21st<\/sup> spot at the Readers\u2019 Rating of 81.332. The award announcement named Chiang Mai as \u2018the culinary capital of Thailand\u2019 with \u2018several excellent cooking schools and a popular market scene whose standout is the night bazaar on Chang Klan Road \u2013 the place to try Khao Soi<\/em>, a steaming bowl of yellow curry noodles.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

In the Top 20 Resorts in Asia, Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller\u2019s readers rewarded six Thai properties, including two in the Top 10, which are the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle Chiang Rai at the 2nd<\/sup> and the Anantara Chiang Mai Resort and Spa at the 8th<\/sup> spot. The JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa Phuket ranked in the 12th<\/sup> position, followed by Rayavadee Krabi at the 15th<\/sup> and Pimalai Resort and Spa Phuket at the 17th<\/sup> while the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai making the list at the 20th <\/sup>place.<\/span><\/div>\n

In the Top 25 Hotels in Asia, the Oriental Residence Bangkok was regarded as the 22nd<\/sup> best hotel in the region.<\/span><\/div>\n
