{"id":19157,"date":"2014-12-09T20:38:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-09T20:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/new-ceo-and-operations-manager-at-alaskan-dream-cruises\/"},"modified":"2014-12-09T20:38:00","modified_gmt":"2014-12-09T20:38:00","slug":"new-ceo-and-operations-manager-at-alaskan-dream-cruises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2014\/12\/new-ceo-and-operations-manager-at-alaskan-dream-cruises\/","title":{"rendered":"New CEO and Operations Manager at Alaskan Dream Cruises"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" trbidi=\"on\">\n<span>#expeditioncruising <\/span> <\/p>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cybercruises.com\/images\/Baranof_Dream.jpg\" height=\"167\" width=\"400\"><\/div>\n<p>After four years of small ship cruising through Alaska\u2019s Inside Passage, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alaskandreamcruises.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alaskan Dream Cruises<\/a> is preparing for growth, according to a company statement.<\/p>\n<p>The Sitka, Alaska-based company recently hired two new executives, including Russell Dick as chief executive officer.<\/p>\n<p>Russell was also recently named by former Governor Sean Parnell to the Alaska Tourism Marketing Board, an advisory board that will make recommendations for the state\u2019s tourism marketing strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Former president and CEO of Haa Aan\u00ed, LLC, a subsidiary of Sealaska Corp., Russell serves as chairman of the board of directors for Huna Totem Corp., the Native village corporation representing Alaska Natives with aboriginal ties to Glacier Bay and Hoonah.<\/p>\n<p>He holds a master\u2019s of science in management from Stanford Graduate School of Business; a bachelor\u2019s degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University; and a bachelor\u2019s degree in business and accounting from the University of Phoenix. He is a member of the Tlingit Kaagwaantaan clan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussell brings an incredible amount of experience to the organization and an innate understanding of what it means to share Alaska with our guests,\u201d said David Allen, Alaskan Dream Cruises owner and president. \u201cAlaskan Dream Cruises prides itself on offering visitors access to \u2018True Alaska with True Alaskans\u2019 and will continue to focus on sharing authentic experiences with travelers under Russell\u2019s direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Peter Butz joins the executive team as operations manager, bringing decades of small-ship cruise line experience to Alaskan Dream Cruises. After extensive travels as an expedition leader with Lindblad Travel and Special Expeditions, Peter spent 25 years serving as the vice president of fleet operations and chief operating office of Lindblad Expeditions.
