Our fleet is now one of the most modern fleets in the industry, ensuring we continue to provide the most innovative solutions and experiences for our passengers, as well as the most environmentally friendly equipment\u0094 continued Mr. Aylwin. \u0093We are excited about the development prospects in the Pacific region and believe this new addition to our fleet will help to spearhead further growth.\u0094<\/p>\n<p> LAN Airlines\u0092 Boeing 787 will carry a total of 247 travellers, with a two-class layout featuring 30 Business Class seats, in a 2-2-2 configuration, and 217 Economy seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.<\/p>\n<p> The Boeing 787 features breakthrough technologies and an advanced aircraft design to increase efficiency, ease of operation and significantly improve the on board experience for passengers. <span><\/p>\n<p><b>Some of the environmental benefits of the 787<\/b><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span>An emission of up to 20 per cent\u00a0less CO<sup>2<\/sup> than similar aircraft<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Up to 40 per cent\u00a0less noise footprint than similar aircraft on takeoff, the period of greatest noise in flight<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>50 per  cent\u00a0of the structure is made of carbon fibre composite material, which  makes it a first in the industry. This material is more resistant to  fatigue and corrosion.\u00a0Less non-recyclable waste is also produced in the manufacturing process\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span><b>The passenger\u0092s experience on LAN\u0092s 78<\/b>7<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>An <b>innovative, modern and harmonious <\/b>design<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>With electronic auto-dimming windows and <b>dynamic lighting<\/b> to create a better atmosphere. Thus, preparing the passenger for the different stages during the flight (day, night, etc.) and for the time zone to which it is arriving<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Larger windows: <b>the windows of this aircraft have up to 40 per cent\u00a0more surface area<\/b> than current windows, which will allow all passengers (in all rows) more visibility during the flight, giving them a better view<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Overhead bins with <b>30 per cent\u00a0more storage space<\/b> for carry-on luggage<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The aerodynamics of the Boeing 787 incorporates technology that <b>reduces the impact felt by the passenger due to turbulence<\/b>.  In addition, the pressurization of the cabin to a lower altitude (6,000 feet instead of 8,000) which results in the reduction of  headaches or other symptoms a passenger might experience when flying<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The cabin includes <b>new air humidification techniques<\/b>, significantly reducing fatigue and dryness associated with long trips<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The  technology used in the engines of the Boeing 787 ensures the aircraft is  less noisy from both inside and outside the aircraft<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Premium Business Class on board the LAN 787 between Sydney and Santiago will continue to offer superior services, entertainment and features, including spacious seats with six-way adjustments, including reclining and full-flat positions for optimum rest, as well as more room for personal belongings at ground level.<\/p>\n<p> LAN Airlines operates seven one-stop flights each week from Sydney, via Auckland to Santiago, Chile, the gateway to South America.
