Billed as the\u00a0\u2018Ultimate Road Trip\u2019<\/b>, the 17-night escorted, self-drive tour will cover 10 countries starting in Munich on July 7th<\/sup>\u00a0this year.\u00a0 It will travel through the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark before returning to Germany and its capital, Berlin.<\/span><\/div>\n
This will be the second\u00a0Tour De Europe<\/b>\u00a0to be hosted by Mike Brady, a popular presenter on Melbourne radio station 3AW and singer\/songwriter of the AFL anthem, \u2018Up There Cazaly\u2019.<\/span><\/div>\n
\nGlobalCARS<\/b>\u00a0director, Andrew Morgan, said some of his clients who were interested to visit Europe by road expressed reservations about travelling on their own.<\/span>\"Mike\n<\/div>\n
He said that the success of the inaugural\u00a0Tour De Europe<\/b>\u00a0in 2012 showed that a well-managed and inclusive program added value to the European road experience.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cClearly, the\u00a0Tour De Europe<\/b>\u00a0has carefully researched its itinerary and created a road map that doesn\u2019t overload drivers or passengers, but still offers fantastic sightseeing opportunities which only a visit to Europe by car can deliver,\u201d Mr Morgan said.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cThe tour director, Harry Cadle, is one of Australia\u2019s most experienced road event specialists who ran the Victorian Variety \u2018Bash\u2019 for 16 years, making it one of the most popular in Australia.\u00a0 He also designed and ran the Variety International \u2018Bash\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n
The\u00a0Tour De Europe<\/b>\u00a0is a small group tour which will again partner with Citroen DriveEurope.<\/span><\/div>\n
Harry Cadle said that only new, GPS-enabled vehicles which are fully insured by Citroen DriveEurope are used, to ensure luxury, safety and support along the entire route.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cEach GPS is pre-programmed by me for peace of mind for those who want to follow the designated route,\u201d Mr Cadle said.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cRiver cruising is a great alternative but you are restricted to activities along or close to the riverbank.\u00a0 Bus touring is tiring and there is no flexibility, whereas travelling by road allows you to stop where you want, divert off the main roads when you want, and discover things that organised tours usually don\u2019t allow.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

Mike Brady said one of the great advantages of an escorted self-drive tour is that people can travel in convoy or \u201cdo their own thing\u201d before meeting up at the hotel at night.\u00a0 Based on the 2012 experience, more two night stays and 5-star hotels along the route have been added.<\/span><\/div>\n
The cost for accommodation, car lease, all breakfasts and selected other meals starts from $9,250 per person based on twin share.\u00a0 Vehicle and accommodation upgrades are available.\u00a0 Also included is a tour guide book, clothing and an experienced Tour Director who holds Level 2 First Aid Qualifications.<\/span><\/div>\n
Vehicles can be returned to Citroen, or tour participants can take advantage of extra free days of car hire if they wish to continue travelling, (applicable if booked before 31st<\/sup>\u00a0March.)<\/span><\/div>\n
