The Most Downloaded Travel App According to Distimo Reaches 100 Million Downloads Milestone<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

\n<\/a>TripAdvisor\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><\/a><\/span>, the world\u2019s largest travel site*, today announced it has reached the mobile milestone of 100 million downloads for its <\/span>free app<\/span><\/a><\/span> for iPhone and Android. The number of downloads more than doubled in the past year and is up 6x from 2011. According to data from Distimo, a global leader in business intelligence and app market data, TripAdvisor is now the most popular travel app based on total App Store downloads\u00b9. <\/span>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAs travel planning has shifted from something you do ahead of time to something that\u2019s possible anytime, the TripAdvisor mobile app has become the essential companion for millions of travellers,\u201d said Stephen Kaufer, president and CEO of TripAdvisor. \u201cReaching the milestone of 100 million downloads is evidence that travellers worldwide are benefitting from the TripAdvisor community\u2019s reviews and opinions, wherever their travels may take them.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

\nThe TripAdvisor mobile app is recognised in the industry for its function and innovation. The app that was <\/span>recently named \u201cBest Mobile App\u201d by <\/span>Eye for Travel in its 2014 Innovation Awards<\/span><\/a><\/span>, includes a number of features and content to help travellers plan and have the perfect trip. <\/span>The free apps are available in 21 languages and are available to download at the <\/span>iTunes App Store<\/span><\/a><\/span> or <\/span>Google Play<\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Helpful features: <\/span><\/b>Travellers on their trips can use the \u201cNear Me Now\u201d and \u201cPoint Me There\u201d features to find nearby places of interest, read traveller reviews and see dynamic maps in that location.<\/span>
