Australian soft adventure agency, Active Travel, is offering a new walking tour in Peru in 2015 guided by a seasoned Australian hiker with a passion for the majestic Andes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The new 19-day \u2018Walking with the Incas\u2019 tour departs from Lima, Peru, on May 12, 2015, and features a five-day trek along the remote and less visited Lares Trail from near Cusco to Ollantaytambo, with hikers visiting traditional weavers and farmers along the way. This new trek takes walkers over passes as high as 4450m providing stunning Andean scenery featuring high peaks, glaciers, volcanoes and lakes.<\/p>\n

Led by experienced Australian trekker, Mike Taverner, and local guides, the tour also features a train trip to Machu Picchu and visits to Colca Canyon \u2013 famous for its hot springs and huge Andean condors. At Lake Titicaca, guests will cruise on one of the highest lakes in the world (3800m) to visit the lake\u2019s famous, floating reed islands.<\/p>\n

Including 38 meals, 13 nights\u2019 accommodation in hotels, four nights in camps and one in a private home and excursions by boat, coach, canoe and on foot, the tour is available from A$5852 per person, twin-share, with a A$714 solo supplement. Flights from Australia and a flight from Cusco back to Lima are additional.<\/p>\n
