Three NSW events have been revealed among\u00a0Australia\u2019s Top Ten favourites in this year\u2019s much-anticipated Australian Event Awards.<\/span><\/span>

Vivid Sydney, Top Gear Festival Sydney and Sprung Festival in NSW\u2019s Bathurst have made the list of the country\u2019s most revered events,\u00a0with Australia\u2019s\u00a0Favourite\u00a0Event to be decided by public vote and announced\u00a0on Tuesday\u00a019\u00a0November, 2013.<\/span><\/div>\n

Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris\u00a0said, \u201cThere are incredible events happening in NSW constantly \u2013 whether it\u2019s in regional NSW or the capital Sydney.\u00a0 Sporting events, lifestyle events, arts, culture, music, entertainment \u2013 NSW has it all.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cEvents are central to delivering visitor growth and expenditure.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

The 184 events secured by the NSW Government since March 2011 will deliver an estimated $1.2 billion into the economy.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

Owned and managed by the NSW Government through Destination NSW, Vivid Sydney was enjoyed by more than 800,000 people in 2013, coming together for the ever-popular 18-day festival of light, music and ideas. The event will be back in 2014, held in various locations in Sydney on\u00a023 May-9 June.<\/span><\/div>\n

Also featured in the top 10 list was Top Gear Sydney, secured\u00a0exclusively\u00a0for Sydney\u00a0by\u00a0Destination NSW in 2013, with its great mix of high octane entertainment \u2013 and due to return to\u00a0Sydney\u00a0on\u00a08-9 March 2014; and The Sprung\u00a0Festival, a seven-night creativity and entertainment event held\u00a0at\u00a0the Charles Sturt University Bathurst Campus.<\/span><\/div>\n

Sandra Chipchase, CEO of Destination NSW said, “Events are a fantastic way of exploring a city or region, giving visitors a unique experience and often a very different perspective of the destination.<\/span><\/div>\n

“It is particularly positive to see Vivid Sydney, an event that features so prominently in the events calendar during winter, voted as one of Australia\u2019s top ten events.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

Voting for Australia\u2019s Favourite Event is open to everyone and can be cast at\u00a0http:\/\/www.eventawards.com.au\/<\/a><\/wbr>. The country\u2019s favourite event will be revealed after voting closes at\u00a09:00pm Tuesday 19 November, at a black tie awards night function in Sydney.<\/span><\/div>\n
