This festive season, Changi Airport fulfils the\u00a0childhood dreams of the young and the young-at-heart by bringing Santa Claus \u2013 and his\u00a0village \u2013 to the heart of Terminal 3.<\/span>

Cartoon superstar SpongeBob SquarePants will also\u00a0surface from under the sea to partake in the festivities, opening his Pineapple House to add\u00a0a dimension of fantasy to Changi Airport\u2019s Christmas festivities.<\/span><\/div>\n

Located just before Departure Immigration at Terminal 3, SpongeBob\u2019s Pineapple House \u2013\u00a0which stands at a towering 11 metres \u2013 is a sight to behold.<\/span><\/div>\n

From 15 November, during\u00a0show times1, visitors to the Christmas village can power SpongeBob\u2019s Pineapple House to\u00a0life by peddling on Santa’s sleigh and triggering the special effects of lights, sounds, scent\u00a0and even smoke bubbles. Within the house lies SpongeBob\u2019s bedroom, where guests\u00a0increase in size as they walk from one end to the other through an optical illusion.<\/span><\/div>\n

\nThe excitement continues in the log house where Father Christmas lives. Be awed by\u00a0Santa\u2019s toy treasures, such as his mechanical toy train, vintage propeller plane, giant teddy\u00a0bear and hot air balloons. From 21 November to 26 December, visitors will have the rare\u00a0opportunity to be meet Santa2, at a\u00a0<\/span>\"downloadcosy fireplace where he shares his life story and his\u00a0home country, Finland. Those curious about his workplace can peep into in his mail room,<\/span>
where they pen Christmas wishes on postcards and be delighted with surprises from Santa.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n

Dazzling decorations and performances\u00a0On top of the galore of fun-filled activities, Changi Airport will be decked out in vibrant and\u00a0spectacular displays, featuring massive topiaries of famous landmarks from across the\u00a0world such as The Leaning Tower of Pisa, St Basil’s Cathedral, the Colosseum in Rome\u00a0and the Turkey’s fabled Trojan Horse. At these displays, visitors can read more about the\u00a0destinations, hopefully giving them inspiration for their next holiday destination. Along\u00a0Airport Boulevard, visitors will be greeted with the beautiful sight of shimmering reindeers\u00a0and Christmas decorations donning the trees lining the boulevard, adding extra magic to\u00a0the festive season.<\/span><\/div>\n

To spread the holiday cheer, roving carollers and stilt walkers will delight passengers and\u00a0airport visitors across the airport on weekends with performances. On 21 December,\u00a0award-winning Ministry of Bellz \u2013 Singapore\u2019s only independent community handbell\u00a0ensemble \u2013 will make attempt to make history in the Singapore Book of Records, by\u00a0delivering a non-stop, 24-hour hand-bells performance.<\/span><\/div>\n

\nActivities Galore for the little ones<\/span>
Changi Airport is promising a bubbly \u2018underwater\u2019 fun for the little ones this year. At\u00a0Terminal 3\u2019s Departure Hall Row 11, a bouncy playground 3 mimicking SpongeBob\u2019s\u00a0underwater town, the \u2018Bikini Bottom\u2019, has taken root. Touted to be the biggest SpongeBob\u00a0inflatable playground in Singapore, the<\/span>\"download\u00a0nine-metre high playground features a ball pit, maze\u00a0and a slide. Toddlers can also have a jolly time at the merry-go-round and take\u00a0photographs at the SpongeBob Photo Booth.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n

\nCollectors can look forward to the full range of plush toys featuring SpongeBob\u00a0SquarePants and his friends. Shoppers and diners can purchase each of the six plush toys\u00a0for S$3 when they spend a minimum of S$60 in Changi Airport\u2019s public areas (S$120 in\u00a0supermarkets), and S$150 in the transit areas. A new character will be launched for\u00a0redemption at public areas each week, while shoppers in the transit area can choose from\u00a0all 6 characters, while stocks last. In addition, the first 1,000 Changi Rewards\u00a0<\/span>\"downloadmembers\u00a0who earn 1,200 points during the promotion period can redeem a full set of 6 characters for<\/span>

\nCelebrating the Season of Giving<\/span>
Christmas is also a season of giving and this year, passengers and visitors at Changi\u00a0Airport have the opportunity to make this festive season a special one for the\u00a0disadvantaged. Two charity booths at the Terminal 3 Departure\u00a0<\/span>\"downloadHall and Departure Transit\u00a0Lounge will each house a Christmas tree, where 500 handwritten wishes from students of\u00a0Northlight Secondary School \u2013 a beneficiary of Changi Foundation \u2013 will hang from.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n

Samaritans can adopt these wishes by donating S$20, which will be used to buy books,\u00a0shoes, groceries and other items wished for by the students.<\/span><\/div>\n
