{"id":16415,"date":"2008-02-19T05:04:00","date_gmt":"2008-02-19T05:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/for-sale-reef-endeavour-2\/"},"modified":"2008-02-19T05:04:00","modified_gmt":"2008-02-19T05:04:00","slug":"for-sale-reef-endeavour-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2008\/02\/for-sale-reef-endeavour-2\/","title":{"rendered":"For Sale: Reef Endeavour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_OY-0d2rKv_Q\/R7pkQuWymWI\/AAAAAAAAClM\/GBXFnJrbVFQ\/s1600-h\/MVReefEndeavour.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_OY-0d2rKv_Q\/R7pkQuWymWI\/AAAAAAAAClM\/GBXFnJrbVFQ\/s320\/MVReefEndeavour.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a>The biggest ship to ever be built in Fiji will be put up for  sale on Friday, due to its owner Captain Cook Cruises promising not to compete  with new partners Coral Princess Cruises, says <em>The<\/em> <em>Fiji Times<\/em>.      <\/p>\n<p>Captain Cook Cruises recently entered into a marketing  partnership with Cairns-based Coral Princess Cruises, and a promise was made  between the two not to compete against each other said Captain Cook\u2019s Joint-MD  Jackie Haworth-Charlton.<\/p>\n<p>This will see the <em>Reef Endeavour<\/em> being put up for  sale and retired from Captain Cook\u2019s Fiji itineraries.<\/p>\n<p>Delivered to Australia  in 1996, the 3,000 tonne ship which carries some 150 overnight passengers also  has recently struggled with fuel efficiency, as well as operational efficiency  as its all-Australian crew was more expensive than other crews in the region.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the high Aussie dollar has seen the number  of passengers drop from the market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a very sad time for us presently but I have to say  she was very successful,\u201d Trevor Haworth, Captain Cook Cruises Executive Chairman.<\/p>\n<p><em>Reef Endeavour<\/em> was  launched to replace the <em>Reef Escape<\/em> which retired from the market in 1996.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The biggest ship to ever be built in Fiji will be put up for sale on Friday, due to its owner Captain Cook Cruises promising not to compete with new partners Coral Princess Cruises, says The Fiji Times.
