{"id":16365,"date":"2007-07-16T00:50:00","date_gmt":"2007-07-16T00:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/success-of-a-swift-sea-change-2\/"},"modified":"2007-07-16T00:50:00","modified_gmt":"2007-07-16T00:50:00","slug":"success-of-a-swift-sea-change-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2007\/07\/success-of-a-swift-sea-change-2\/","title":{"rendered":"SUCCESS OF A SWIFT SEA-CHANGE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.co.uk\/rodeime\/VINTNEWS\/photo?authkey=z2TXO9lQWUA#5087593469058114354\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.google.co.uk\/rodeime\/RprDTgzOYzI\/AAAAAAAAAjI\/A4GnN8zxLio\/s288\/2006%20Savblanc.JPG\" align=\"left\"><\/a>ED and David Swift were only in their twenties when they decided on an earlier- rather than a later-in-life sea-change: Ed with an engineering background and David with one in design, decided they\u2019d venture into the winemaking business.<\/p>\n<p>So in the mid-1990s David started building a winery on Mt Canobolas in the Orange region of Central Western NSW, David got to in designing a label, they planted a vineyard, contracted a local grower to supply specific premium fruit for their enterprise, and invited a local winemaker well versed in the needs and potential of the Orange region, Robert Black to join them in their venture.<\/p>\n<p>Their first wines under their Printhie label hit the market in 2004 and they\u2019ve not looked back: amongst this year\u2019s releases is a 2006 Sauvignon Blanc made from fruit off vigneron David Gartrell\u2019s property over 1000m above sea-level on the south-western side of Mt Canobolas.<\/p>\n<p>This is a wine that\u2019s fantastically drinkable with wonderful tropical fruit-salad flavours; served well-chilled it makes an ideal companion with steamed white asparagus, a dob of parsley sauce, and warm garlic bread on the side.<\/p>\n<p>For a wine that delivers far more than it\u2019s $16.99 price tag, we just wonder if Ed and David are under-selling themselves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ED and David Swift were only in their twenties when they decided on an earlier- rather than a later-in-life sea-change: Ed with an engineering background and David with one in design, decided they\u2019d venture into the winemaking business.
