American Cruise Lines (www.americancruiselines.com<\/a>), the largest U.S. cruise company, introduces\u00a0Puget Sound and San Juan Islands itinerary<\/a>\u00a0to the\u00a0American Spirit<\/i>‘s\u00a0<\/i>2013 schedule with a debut journey sailing on\u00a0April 27.<\/p>\n

This new voyage is a one-of-a-kind experience that provides a glimpse into the pristine environment and captivating scenery only found in the Pacific Northwest. This is the company’s newest addition to a growing portfolio of cruises in the Pacific Northwest which includes\u00a0Alaska<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Columbia & Snake River<\/a>\u00a0itineraries.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

The eight-day\u00a0roundtrip voyage<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0Seattle\u00a0explores the hundreds of islands, many of which are uninhabited, nestled betweenCanada’s Vancouver Island and the U.S. mainland. While aboard, guests enjoy elegant accommodations, personalized service, fine dining, nightly entertainment and daily lectures and seminars from local experts on the region’s rich history. The Puget Sound itinerary will run from\u00a0April 2013\u00a0through\u00a0October 2013\u00a0and then again from\u00a0March 2014\u00a0through\u00a0November 2014. Rates start at\u00a0$3,750\u00a0per person.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

  • Victoria,\u00a0Canada: This adventurous day begins with a ferry ride to\u00a0Victoria,\u00a0Canada\u00a0from\u00a0Port Angeles, WA.\u00a0On a guided tour guests can visit Butchart Gardens – one of\u00a0Victoria’s most famous and popular attractions. After the gardens, guests can participate in a narrated tour of the city before taking the ferry back to\u00a0Port Angeles.<\/li>\n
  • Anacortes, WA: Located between\u00a0Seattle\u00a0and\u00a0Vancouver, on beautiful Fidalgo Island,\u00a0Anacortes\u00a0is known as the gateway to the San Juan.\u00a0 A thriving seaside town with a past that mirrors the fascinating boom and busy history and entrepreneurial spirit of the area, a walking tour is a great way to get a true feel for the town. Guests can admire the extensive, colorful murals depicting the history of the city while taking in the town center and the W.T. Preston stern wheeler.<\/li>\n
  • Friday Harbor: Guests can visit The Whale Museum and learn about the natural history of marine mammals in the museum’s Gallery of the Whales, with a special focus on orcas that live in the surrounding area.<\/li>\n
  • Olympic National Park\u00a0and Hurricane Ridge: Known as a land of beauty and variety, guests can explore the home of some of the largest remnants of ancient forests left in this country while at\u00a0Olympic National Park. While at\u00a0Olympic National Park, guests can marvel at the spectacular view at Hurricane Ridge.<\/li>\n
  • Port Townsend, WA: Guests can experience the 19th<\/sup>\u00a0century Victorian buildings, historic charm and striking natural setting in\u00a0Port Townsend\u00a0by taking part in a guided walking tour through the town.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
