{"id":12720,"date":"2013-08-09T08:33:00","date_gmt":"2013-08-09T08:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/australian-boardriders-do-battle-at-cronulla\/"},"modified":"2013-08-09T08:33:00","modified_gmt":"2013-08-09T08:33:00","slug":"australian-boardriders-do-battle-at-cronulla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2013\/08\/australian-boardriders-do-battle-at-cronulla\/","title":{"rendered":"Australian Boardriders Do Battle At Cronulla"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><span>Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley, today announced that NSW will host the national final of the Australian Boardriders Battle at one of Sydney\u2019s most spectacular beaches, Cronulla, on 25-26 January 2014<\/span><\/span><br \/><span><span><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div><span><b>\u201c<\/b>I\u2019m delighted the Australian Boardriders Battle national final will be coming to Sydney\u2019s Cronulla Beach over the Australia Day long weekend,\u201d Mr Annesley said.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<span><br \/><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"MAN\" data-mce-src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/MAN.jpg\" height=\"132\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/MAN.jpg\" width=\"226\">\n<\/div>\n<div><span>\u201cThe NSW Government, through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, has secured the national final and two qualifying events for NSW, which is more than any other state.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>\u201cPopular regional NSW beaches at Foster and Wollongong will each host a qualifying event with the final to be staged at Cronulla.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>\u201cThe Australian Boardriders Battle is a new event with the best Australian Surfers competing in an eight-event national series comprising seven State qualifying events followed by a 16-club national final,\u201d Mr Annesley added.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris, said, \u201cCronulla has one of Sydney\u2019s best beaches and this event will drive tourism and boost local businesses.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>\u201cCronulla is one of Sydney\u2019s most accessible beaches, with train services directly to the city and I encourage visitors from interstate and throughout NSW to come to The Shire for the Australian Boardriders Battle final, over the Australia Day long weekend, 2014.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>Destination NSW CEO, Sandra Chipchase, said \u201cThe Australian Boardriders Battle is a fantastic addition to the NSW Events calendar which already includes, the Australian Surf Festival in Port Macquarie that kicks off this weekend and the return of the Australian Open of Surfing to be held at Sydney\u2019s Manly Beach in February 2014.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>The first NSW qualifying event of the Australia Boardriders Battle will be held at Foster, 26 \u2013 27 October, 2013, with Wollongong to host the second NSW qualifier, 11 &#8211;
