Skyline Queenstown has announced details of a new mountain bike trail as it launches its season pass prices and information for 2013\/14.<\/span><\/span>

Starting at the midway clearing and gradually flowing through Queenstown bike park, the new $75,000 trail is going to complement the steady gradient of Skyline\u2019s other green trail Hammy\u2019s, providing riders of all abilities with an alternate option to the base of the gondola.<\/span><\/div>\n

Skyline General Manager Lyndon Thomas said he was \u201cdelighted\u201d to be able to offer local riders and visitors a new experience.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cFor many bikers in Queenstown, New Zealand and even Australia, we\u2019re the location of choice, so we\u2019re really pleased we can increase the number and range of trails we offer and provide these riders with more thrills and the same convenience factor of a gondola ride back up the hill,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cSince access to these trails first opened, we\u2019ve seen the continued growth of mountain biking as a sport, creating a significant economic benefit for many businesses throughout the region.<\/span><\/div>\n

Work will commence shortly after the season opens on\u00a0Thursday 26 September 2013.<\/span><\/div>\n

Skyline Queenstown is home to the Southern Hemisphere\u2019s only gondola-assisted bike lift, providing direct access to 13 world-class mountain biking\u00a0trails and varying terrain for all abilities in the Queenstown Bike Park.<\/span><\/div>\n

The 2013\/14 pass prices and dates\u00a0have been released on\u00a0www.skyline.co.nz\/queenstown\/mountain-biking\/<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n

This year, in an initiative to harness the growing interest among youngsters, Skyline Queenstown\u00a0is offering Season Passes to local Wakatipu High School students at a special rate of $249.<\/span><\/div>\n

The mountain biking season is scheduled to close on\u00a0Sunday May 4 2014.<\/span><\/div>\n
