{"id":11962,"date":"2013-05-28T11:32:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-28T11:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/seychelles-ministers-meet-with-sheikh-ahmed-bin-saeed-al-maktoum-and-the-emirates-delegation\/"},"modified":"2013-05-28T11:32:00","modified_gmt":"2013-05-28T11:32:00","slug":"seychelles-ministers-meet-with-sheikh-ahmed-bin-saeed-al-maktoum-and-the-emirates-delegation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveloscopy.com\/travel-news\/2013\/05\/seychelles-ministers-meet-with-sheikh-ahmed-bin-saeed-al-maktoum-and-the-emirates-delegation\/","title":{"rendered":"Seychelles Ministers meet with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and the Emirates Delegation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>Ministers Pierre Laporte (Finance, Trade &#038; Investment), Rolph Payet (Environment &#038; Energy), Alain St.Ange (Tourism &#038; Culture) and Christian Lionnet (Land Use &#038; Habitat) met this morning with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates.<\/span><br \/><span><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<div>Airline and Group &#038; Vice President of Dubai and his Emirates Delegation Mr Timothy Clark the President of Emirates and Mr Marc Bennett, the Divisional SVP, Leisure Division of Emirates.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Meeting with Emirates Delegation\" data-mce-src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Meeting-with-Emirates-Delegation.jpg\" height=\"203\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Meeting-with-Emirates-Delegation.jpg\" width=\"350\">Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and his delegation are in Seychelles on a working visit to discuss the Emirates Hotel project at Cap Ternay.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Emirates had presented a hotel project in 2006 which consisted of a 453 hotel rooms and villas, a marina and a number of water bungalows.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Despite experiencing delays, they communicated their desire to play a long term part in the tourism development of Seychelles and to continue the project.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Following discussions with the Government which took place in the last few weeks, Emirates agreed to reduce the hotel size and to remove the plans for water bungalows.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Today&#8217;s meeting saw Emirates present their scaled down resort which now has a maximum of 183 rooms for the Cap Ternay property.
