The North Cape and Hurtigruten have always been closely linked. After the shipping company expanded their route to Kirkenes in the early 20th century, just a few years after its foundation some 120 years ago, the ships also started to pass the North Cape where passengers could admire the famous rock plateau from the ship. Later, after completion of the road to the North Cape Plateau in the fifties, the trip to the North Cape was included in Hurtigruten\u2019s shore excursion program. Its appeal has remained untarnished ever since.<\/p>\n

Troms\u00f8, Norway\u2019s biggest city north of the Arctic Circle, also proved to be popular for guests, with almost 21,000 passengers attending the \u2018Midnight Concert in the Arctic Cathedral\u2019 (from $72pp) making it the second best-selling excursion. In third place was the \u2018A Taste of Vesteralen\u2019 tour (from $105pp), with more than 17,000 participants. This tour explores the beautiful and dramatic scenery of the Vester\u00e5len Islands on a diverse bus tour from Harstad to Sortland.<\/p>\n

Hurtigruten offers guests a broad and diverse shore excursion program to choose from, whatever their itinerary, whenever they sail. A total of 45 different excursions are offered on the 12-day Classic Round Voyage from Bergen to Kirkenes and back to Bergen. The maximum number and selection of shore excursions depend on the time of year.<\/p>\n
