The government is rethinking its original plan for a two-tiered price increase for gasoline, now believing a single flat rate for premium gas is more workable. Badung legislators have finally ratified rules on smoke-free zones in South Bali. And, Bali\u2019s inoculation program to prevent rabies among the island\u2019s canine population continues, despite problems in rounding up the animals to get their jabs.<\/p>\n

And, Denpasar officials have visited Banjarmasin in Kalimantan to learn how that community has successfully reduced the number of street beggars and vagrants.<\/p>\n
