Digital option too.<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Qantas and Emirates have welcomed the New Zealand Minister for\u00a0Transport\u2019s decision to approve their partnership for five years.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>The partnership will provide New Zealand customers with stronger links to Australia, Europe, the Middle East,\u00a0North Africa and the UK, as well as frequent flyer benefits and world-class travel experiences.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Qantas and Emirates applied for authorisation of the partnership under the Civil Aviation Act.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Chief Executive Officer of the Qantas Group Alan Joyce said the decision was great news for global travellers\u00a0and local tourism.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis decision means that New Zealand consumers can tap into the lounges, frequent flyer benefits and\u00a0destinations available under the joint Qantas and Emirates network,\u201d said Mr Joyce.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe partnership also opens the door to increased tourism opportunities for New Zealand, by making it easier\u00a0for travellers across both Qantas and Emirates\u2019 network to connect more seamlessly across the Tasman,\u201d he\u00a0added.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In welcoming today\u2019s announcement, President of Emirates Tim Clark, said: \u201cThis is a truly game-changing \u00a0partnership that brings together two of the world\u2019s best airlines and offers some of the highest quality travel\u00a0experiences.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cDubai is a leading global hub and through it, our two airlines will connect New Zealand to Europe, the UK and\u00a0Northern Africa more smoothly than ever before,\u201d added Mr Clark.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>From Dubai, passengers can connect to 65 destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
