HAWAIIAN AIRLINES CELEBRATES FOUR YEARS IN AUSTRALIA WITH SPECIAL “LA HANAU” (BIRTHDAY) AIRFARES TO HAWAII
It is four years this month since Hawaiian Airlines launched nonstop flights from Australia to Hawaii – and to celebrate, the airline has introduced special “La Hanau”, or birthday, fares to Honolulu and the neighbour islands of Maui, Kauai and The Big Island of Hawaii.
The “La Hanau” roundtrip specials from Sydney to Honolulu are priced from just AUD $799 plus taxes of approximately AUD $382 for low season travel from 01 – 09 December, 2008, and 01-28 February, 2009. Flights to neighbour islands are available from an additional AUD $75 one-way, plus taxes.
“Hawaii is one of the top holiday destinations for Australians – and nobody knows Hawaii as well as we do,” said Sherilyn Robinson, Sales and Marketing Manager Australia for Hawaiian Airlines.
“When we started flying from Sydney to Hawaii in May, 2004, the Australian dollar was worth US77 cents,” said Ms Robinson. “Today, the dollar is floating between US90 and US95 cents – and there is so much more to see and do, from surfing and shopping to touring, a spot of golf or a choice of cultural events.
“We are the only carrier which can offer same-airline services from Australia to Honolulu and beyond into the neighbour islands, with more than 100 interisland flights per day.
“And we are the only airline to offer true Hawaiian style from the moment passengers board their flights, with Hawaii-based cabin crew, and Hawaii-themed catering and entertainment, in addition to late release movies and audio programmes.”
Hawaiian’s Le Hanau fares are based on Wednesday evening departures from Sydney. Shoulder season fares of $915 plus taxes are available for travel from 09 May – 16 June 2008, 21 July – 19 September, 2008 and 13-31 October, 2008, and again from 16 – 31 January, 2009. Fares must be booked and paid for by 27 June, 2008. Seats are limited at these prices, taxes can change without notice and some conditions apply.
Hawaiian Airlines offers three weekly nonstop flights from Sydney to Honolulu, and connecting service with Virgin Blue from 19 other Australian destinations. Members of the Hawaiian Airlines loyalty programme HawaiianMiles or the Virgin Blue loyalty programme Velocity can earn and redeem loyalty points on all Hawaiian Airlines flights.
