Escape to the Whitsundays for some whale watching this winter and stay longer for free, thanks to Sunsail.
Watching these giant mammals frolicking in the warm Whitsunday waters is a magical moment no one ever forgets.
And now Sunsail Yacht Charters is offering holidaymakers additional nights sailing for free during July to take advantage of this amazing experience.
When you book seven nights with Sunsail Yacht Charters – the world’s leading sailing holiday company – you only pay for five nights. And when you book 10 nights you only pay for seven.
If you have two weeks to spare sailing around the gorgeous Whitsunday Islands then you will only pay for 10 nights.
Weather in the tropical Whitsundays, off the coast of north Queensland, is considerably warmer during winter than in the more southern states, with average maximum daily temperatures of 23⁰c – 24⁰ c.
The humpback whales head north every year during winter to breed and give birth to their calves in the warmer Whitsunday waters.
Sunsail’s marketing manager Kim Lehmann said the special winter deal was aimed at showing holidaymakers just how gorgeous the Whitsundays are at this time of year.
“Whether you can sail or not, Sunsail has a boat and package to suit everyone who wants a little Queensland sunshine this winter,” said Ms Lehmann.
“Whales are an added bonus at this time of year and many guests report sighting these amazing creatures as they frolic in the warm waters.”
There are strict regulations governing how close boats can get to these magnificent creatures, which can sometimes play for up to half-an-hour if left to themselves.
The Whitsunday Islands are shielded by the Great Barrier Reef, resulting in calm, protected waters for the whales, which generally appear from mid July to the end of September.
The Whitsundays are a group of 74 islands off the east coast of north Queensland renowned for their excellent sailing, pristine waters, abundant marine life and stunning island scenery.
