Thailand is in The Getaway new season, premiers 29 October on Esquire Network
Thailand is being featured in the new season of Anthony Bourdain’s ‘The Getaway’, an American travel documentary television series that airs on the Esquire Network.
In this season, ‘The Getaway’ follows American model and food blogger Chrissy Teigen through Bangkok, where she learns the art of Thai boxing and samples authentic Thai food while enjoying the sights and sounds of the Thai capital.
Chrissy and ‘The Getaway’ crew were in Bangkok during 25 April – 5 May, 2014, for the TV series filming. The Thailand episode is scheduled to air on the Esquire Network on 29 October, 2014.
‘The Getaway’ Season 2: Chrissy Teigen in Bangkok, Thailand episode is already receiving a rave review from People Magazine online, which published an article on 29 September that said, “The swimsuit model, food blogger and wife of John Legend travelled to Bangkok as part of Anthony Bourdain’s Esquire Network series ‘The Getaway’, which features celebrities as expert travel guides of exotic destinations.”
The People Magazine online article also said, “Teigen takes viewers through Bangkok where she celebrates Christmas with family every year (her mother is from Thailand) with authentic Thai boxing and, of course, food. The piece highlighted Chrissy enjoying the majestic Chao Phraya River on the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok’s converted traditional teak rice barge, touring the lovely Taling Chan Floating Market and learning the art of Muay Thai kickboxing.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to have been part of ‘The Getaway’ Season 2 filming in Bangkok, alongside its luxury hotel partners, the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and the Siam Hotel.
TAT Governor, Mr. Thawatchai Arunyik said, “We hope that viewers of ‘The Getaway’ Season 2: Chrissy Teigen in Bangkok, Thailand will enjoy viewing Chrissy enjoying her times in Bangkok and, of course, will want to follow Chrissy’s footstep to experience the sights and sounds of majestic Bangkok as well as the famous Thai food and culture.”
