Glasgow – host of the recent 2014 Commonwealth Games – will join the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the interior of Buckingham Palace, the Royal Yacht Britannia and Stonehenge as highlights of a new ‘Royal Affair’ cruise tour to the British Isles to be hosted by Cruise Express in July, 2015.

Departing Australia on July 28, 2015 the exclusive 18-day cruise tour begins with three nights’ accommodation in London, including a welcome dinner, local sightseeing, a ride on the London Eye observation wheel and tickets to see the lavish interior of Buckingham Palace. A tour of Windsor Castle and a visit to Stonehenge are also included in the tour package.
The tour then moves to sea, with a 12-night circumnavigation of the British Isles from Southampton aboard the 3600-passenger, Royal Princess, christened by Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge, last year. As the biggest ship in the 18-vessel fleet for Princess Cruises, Royal Princess boasts a dramatic multi-story atrium, a top-deck glass-bottomed walkway extending nine metres over the edge of the ship, a television studio, the largest pastry shop at sea and a special Chef’s Table Lumiere – a private dining experience that surrounds diners in a curtain of light. There are also balconies on all outside cabins.
Destinations during the cruise include Guernsey, Cork and Dublin in Ireland, Belfast in Northern Ireland and the Scottish ports of Glasgow, Inverness and Edinburgh as well as Liverpool – the home of The Beatles – in England and Paris, France.
From Glasgow, the Cruise Express package includes a full day tour to see the Royal Yacht Britannia moored in nearby Leith (Edinburgh), with guests also joining a cruise on Loch Lomond and receiving tickets to the spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which features a 1000-stong cast of massed pipers, dancers and stunt artists performing in a floodlit, outdoor arena at night in the grounds of historic Edinburgh Castle.
After the cruise, Cruise Express is also offering an optional, five-day ‘Hamlets of England’ coach tour including the postcard-perfect villages of the Cotswolds, the Roman relics of Bath and Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford- upon-Avon.
Including return flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth, the 18-day hosted cruise tour is available from $7990 per person, twin-share, or from $10,990 for solo travellers. The additional, five-day Hamlets of England tour is available from an extra $1499 per person, twin-share, or $1799 for single travellers.
