We are writing to update you on the current status of our office and ongoing services in light of the earthquake and on-going aftershocks that are affecting Christchurch. From all of us here at the Heritage Expeditions Christchurch office, I would like to say thanks to all those that have sentus messages of support and concern.
Our office, located just outside the city center has had some damage and is still experiencing communication problems that may take some time to repair. In the interim we have set up a few satellite locations and will be working diligently to maintain the high standard of service our clients and partners have come to expect.
For our Christchurch business partners and both past and future passengers, we sincerely hope and trust that your staff and families are safe and close to you. Presently, just getting through the day in Christchurch is not easy and our first priority as a family owned and operated company has been the well being of our staff and their families. Thankfully everyone is safe and accounted for, although we have ongoing concerns for families and friends in our city who have not been so fortunate.
Our ship the ‘Spirit of Enderby’ has just completed landings at Scott and McMurdo bases in Antarctica’s Ross Sea and is heading north on a homeward leg that should take 10 days with scheduled arrival in Lyttleton on March 11 th. With all the troubles we are experiencing here at the home office the ship continues to perform brilliantly and our future voyages are planned to operate as scheduled. We look forward to welcoming those reserved on the fully booked Chatham Islands voyage departing Lyttleton on March 28.
Our website will carry any updates under the news section on the home page with emails and telephone calls back to being answered from 8.30 to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Please remember that the office is running on reduced staff and responses could take slightly longer than usual, but will be responded to as soon as possible.
