Bondi babes watch out – the women of Tees Valley in North East England are rising to the challenge to break the world record for the largest number of women photographed in bikinis at the same time.

At 11am this Sunday, July 20, the world record attempt will be made at Redcar beach, situated on the southern coastline of North East England, when the local girls will attempt to break the current record of 1,010 women which was set on Australia’s Bondi Beach last September.
The Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club is heading up the challenge and those involved will no doubt be braving the inevitable North Sea chill and lot sof goose bumps even in their summer month.
It is hoped their efforts will raise up to £20,000 (AUD $40,870) for the Great North Air Ambulance.
“I was browsing the internet about world records and saw a picture from the Bondi Beach event.” “It looked very staged – most of the girls had the same type of bikini and had obviously been brought in and I just thought we could do better than 1,010,” said Mike Robson, IT manager at Cleveland Cable Company, who is organising the event.
“Then in Miami, where they tried and failed to beat the record, they were offering incentives like designer bikinis, yet they still didn’t do it!
“I don’t think the girls of North East England will need any incentives to be up for this, especially as it’s for such a good cause,” concluded Mike.
Brr the thought if it makes you shiver!
