On Board Silver Discoverer: The Antipodes

Jutting out of the Pacific Ocean like some Jurassic relic, the Antipodes poke 360m above the waterline leaving virtually nowhere to land a boat. So we didn’t. That and the fact that the Antipodes are a protected bid sanctuary hosting such rare species as the Erect Crested Penguin and endemic Antipodes Parakeet, it’s a big tick for twitchers. There’s a campaign soon about to begin to eradicate the mice that have flourished in the harsh, but predator-free environment.
