From the creator of the national ‘Polo in the City’ series (PITC) comes ‘Polo by the Sea’ (PBTS), arriving in the Palm Beach precinct on Saturday 10 January 2015 at Hitchcock Park.
PITC, now in its ninth year, enjoys a national attendance in excess of 15,000, and in the past four years alone, has generated in excess of $36 million in positive publicity for its host cities and sponsors. Last year, several events in the series won in the ‘Best State Event’ category at the ‘Australian Event Awards’, and many events now sell out months in advance. It has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various charities.
PBTS, the second major ‘Urban Polo’ asset produced by Polo Enterprises Australia Pty Limited, follows in the footsteps of PITC by adopting the same successful production format, however, focusing on coastal towns and holiday destinations, rather than corporate sectors of Australian capital cities. First staged on the Gold Coast’s iconic Doug Jenning’s Park in 2013, that event has more than doubled attendance over it’s two years, attracted international media attention and already played host to VIP’s and celebrities including Hollywood directors and Royalty.
Event producers anticipate the new event will be embraced by the northern beaches community, as well as accentuate Palm Beach’s reputation as the premium Summer holiday destination for Sydney-siders. Palm Beach PBTS will bring together some of Australia’s best polo players in context of premium, corporate and VIP hospitality opportunities, including return seaplane transfers from Rose Bay to Careel Bay as part of limited ‘VIP Polo Weekend’ packages.
A more casual alternative will be available at the ‘Polo Lounge’, where guests will experience a front row view of the on-field action in a relaxed ‘beer-garden’ setting while enjoying live music, and various other activities such as the ‘fashion on the field’ competition.
Janek Gazecki, creator of PITC and PBTS, pioneered ‘Urban Polo’ nine years ago to introduce a broader Australian audience to the remarkable sport and its long-standing traditions, in an urban context. With an aim to position the sport as obtainable to the Australian market, PBTS immerses guests in a uniquely Australian polo culture and gives citygoers the opportunity to get up close and personal with the game and its stars, both human and equine.
With the Sydney PITC event scheduled for 15 November 2014 already sold out, ‘Palm Beach PBTS is a great opportunity for guests to experience ‘Urban Polo’ this summer if they missed out on PITC tickets.
